019 : Storm
Welcome new and old!
Slight format change.
Going to list out what I’ve done and add further context under each entry.
The list demanded more power.
So, here it is!
Since the 18th, we've:
Deeply considered the membership structure
Made some scene sketches.
Returned to journaling (for the membership).
Chipped away at The Meridian Holy’s script.
Opened a Discord server for The World of NINE.
What have we learned? How will we move forward? Let's see!
Deeply considered membership structure.
I’ve already added the people that have bought something from me in the olden times a super-secret, secondary list. I’ve also thrown in the people I feel like have bought something. For those added, you’ll receive an extra surprise email on the 15th in the same way you received a second (very ominous and foreboding) email paired with this one.
Made some scene sketches.
I feel like I owe you guys some pictures! They’re all sketches for the purposes of efficiency. For now, lot of my mental energy is going to into outreach and writing the script, with the reminder of it only being good for making compositions. I’ve made six. Here are two (and a half).

Eyes, glinting with the shine of a distant dream. Before it is disturbed. And the collision of sky and sea, the dawn of humanity’s clash for power within that disturbed dream.
Returned to journaling (for the membership).
I’ve returned to journaling. This was done to better document the project’s development and my thoughts surrounding it. With this, I can also have a better picture of what I can actually share in these updates.
In the past I dropped it, because I just kept adding a bunch of useless information (even if writing down the events of the day did improve my recall of those events; if you struggle with that, I do recommend it).
Chipped away at The Meridian Holy’s script.
Sharing snippets of writing is weird here, so I'll instead share a brief reflection about a section I’m writing.
Betrayal may be the main cause for anger. An expectation of some good thing, something you’ve come to trust, ripped away from you when you thought it was a given. If what is ripped away is large enough or deep enough (often, a promise, forcibly unfulfilled), anger deepens into indignation.
A choice is made to deliver justice. But if there is no way for it to be delivered, it boils, waiting to be unleashed. And to avoid giving away too much (and again, to stay brief), this is precisely what I did for a character.
Does this reflect your experience with anger and indignation? Do you think some form of betrayal is the heart of it? Do you think expectation itself is the cause? If you harbor anger, what will you choose do with it?
Opened a Discord server for The World of NINE.
I’ve been going back and forth on it for a very long time. I think Discord is a terrible option for larger communities, but it works wonderfully for small friend groups (because that’s what it was made for). This wasn’t the main issue for me, though. Didn’t have a use case for it because I didn’t have a cohesive project to bring people together. And well, now I do!
It’s invite-only. If you want in, reply “link” to this email and I’ll shoot you an invite link!
That's all I have for you today.
Next update on the 3rd barring emergencies.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Until then,
👋
