Welcome new and old!
Since the 18th, we've...
Researched audience building and monetization options.
Reconsidered the approach to The Meridian Holy's visual style.
Started writing a bunch of articles.
What have we learned?
How will we move forward?
Let's see!
Research
Crunched the numbers, too (there are no numbers).
Kickstarter probably isn't the way to go now that I'm seeing the full scope of how I intend on building out all of this out. Not just the epic, but all the projects that will fall out of it. If I build on Kickstarter, I'll effectively be building two newsletters. Which is the same problem I had with Patreon. Why build two things at once that will both serve the same purpose?
Of course, Patreon, Substack, Kickstarter, and others offer the chance of direct monetization while these "email list" platforms don't. Or at least I thought so until I remembered Kit has those options, too.
And since I'm using Kit right now...
What the heck am I doing if I'm not leaning into it? Would seem like a total waste to discard something that aligns with all the things I'm looking for in a platform for all of this.
Rethinking
Avoid aneurysm.
Before I relay the "reconsideration," allow me to provide some context:

See these? Yeah. I imagined myself drawing dozens or hundreds of pictures like this and it filled me with great malice. So, I'm instead going to let the epic have three distinct styles, each one being used in different levels of the world's "reality."
The above, grainy style for "utmost reality."
A cartoonist, line art style for "the inner, dream world."
And a secret third style (a blend between the prior two) for "the almost real/magical reality" that will mostly be used in the whole second half of the work.
As I've yet to develop that third style, we'll both be discovering how it will look!
Articles
Purge it or it will haunt you for the rest of your life.
The version of me back in the first quarter of the year had the right idea. He just lacked a real overarching project to tie it all together. And I suppose the ideas needed more time to bake so that a direction could be formed.
For many years I've been wanting to share write-ups on almost everything that goes on in my head. Philosophy, psychology, media analysis, game design, etc. Didn't feel appropriate because I was funneling myself into a very specific niche that had nothing to do with any of these things.
Well, years later, I've gathered enough people that fit into these categories, almost all of them are trying to make cool stuff, and what do you know, so am I.
Now it makes sense to write about all those things and structure my business around it accordingly.
And so, I am.
Every passing week, a little bit more doubt about how to go about doing things leaves my system. Every passing week, I move closer to that never-ending, blinding sprint toward infinity. And this one's going to be a good one.
That's all I have for you today.
Next update on the 3rd barring emergencies.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Until then,
👋
